Unlike timber, bamboo members are not standardized and are unique in size and shape for every member. Due to this property, bamboo is typically assembled using traditional forms of making such as lashing with rope. This project pushes and reimagines existing traditions of bamboo construction by incorporating digital fabrication technology to enable to mass customization of structural connections for bamboo.
