Using the leftover materials and structural assemblies produced by students during the 2023 NOMAS Spring Carnival Pavilion, this project pushes contemporary discourse in sustainable design by exploring how construction material can be reused. This collaborative project involves students from Carnegie Mellon Architecture and members from Sankofa Village community farm to take on the existing configuration of the NOMAS Bamboo Pavilion for Spring Carnival 2023 to begin the journey of designing and reinstalling the Pavilion for a local community in Pittsburgh. The second life of the pavilion is projected to be a greenhouse and open classroom for the community using all the components of the previous configuration.
